Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Malnourished, Abused/Neglected

First, background on finding the big guy: My husband and I found this amazing kitty while he was working. The cat was hiding under a tarp in an abandoned yard. As soon as I made eye contact with him, he came right to me. I noticed he was emaciated and has a bad infection/reaction from fleas over most of his back. He did nothing but circle our legs and give us kisses and head boops. He literally walked to my car and put his paw on the door, asking to get in, and hopped in without hesitation when I opened the door. I tried some of the local shelters, but they were all full or had a 'treat and release' policy because he is an adult. I ... (Read More)could not let this wonderfully sweet guy get thrown back onto the street! I would really love to keep him-he really is the sweetest cat I have ever met; he just wants to cuddle and sleep on you- but I sincerely do not have the resources to do this. He has been with me for 3 days now living in a temporary shelter I made outside my apartment. I really want to get him to his new forever family so he can be truly healed, happy, and spoiled! About the kitty: *He appears to be around 3 years old *He appears to be a purebred Manx *He is very intelligent and listens well *I believe he was abandoned *He was neutered *He has an infection/scabbing on most of his back from fleas ***He has had 3 doses of Capstar since I found him. I haven't seen a flea on him, so the fleas should be almost gone *He is malnourished, but is having no problems eating and has quite an appetite. I keep a dish filled with hard food for him, and have been giving him 2-3 cans of wet a day trying to help him gain some weight *I have given him a dose of deworming medicine *I do not know when he was last vaccinated, but I know he has had shots in the past since he is neutered I have been spending a lot of time with him outside since I cannot bring him in my apartment. He is a very good boy and stays in his little house or the yard and doesn't wander off. He comes to me if I call for him. He greets me with raspy little meows and then proceeds to boop me nonstop. He waits for me to sit down, and will immediately hop on my lap and make bread and go to sleep....he really just wants to cuddle and be loved on! I feel awful about him living outside. I want him to have an amazing home! He really needs to have a vet visit for a checkup. He needs a bath and his back cleaned up so it can heal easier and more quickly. The fleas should be gone after a week of Capstar, but he's going to need long term prevention. ***I am ADAMANT about making sure that this little guy goes to a LOVING FOREVER HOME! He should have never ended up like this in the first place. I am just happy I found him when I did so I could help him...he is truly a sweetheart who has done nothing but melt my heart since he found us!*** If you are able to provide this guy with much needed treatment, love, friendship, fun, nourishment, everything in between- a forever home, please contact me! The adoption fee will be discussed upon meeting. I cannot stress enough how much I would like him to go straight to his new forever home, if possible. He is extremely calm and cuddly and loving! Loud noises and barking don't seem to have any effect on his constitution, and he learned his boundaries the first night I brought him back to my apartment. He is a loving, intelligent, sweet cat who deserves the best, and I really want him to have it. I can't do that for him, so please contact me if he sounds like the cuddle-kitty you have always wanted to help back to full health. I can only imagine the adventures you could go on together when he is fully healthy again....I'm not kidding. He is the kind of cat that walks right by your heels and follows you, but obedient enough to stay if you tell him to. 3 days has been long enough to see this cat is a wonderful soul, and I want him to be united with a forever family that will honor that :) (Less)
